About our Childcare
Kelham Island Community Childcare is a warm, welcoming place where children are able to thrive in a stimulating and happy environment. Every parent/carer is valued and embraced as their childs First Educator. Together children are able to prepare and become school ready and are able to participate in community and family life.
Childcare is one of the biggest expenses for many families, we hope that an annual 2 week NO CHARGE holiday period goes a little way to help.
At Kelham IslandCommunity Childcare we believe in fair pricing, we provide a flexible 38 week Term Time contract, please speak with childcare manager Jo Broughton for further information

Our Team

Kay Williams
Nursery ManagerNursery manager at Kelham Island Community Child care. 40 years experience in Early Years. She is N.N.E.B Trained and is Designated safeguarding Lead. She is also Paediatric First Aid trained. She enjoys meeting families and children and especially has an interest in keeping children safe and extending their learning and development. She works all year.

Laura Kinsella
Senior Early Years PractitionerPre school room lead and Designated Safeguarding Deputy. She is Level 3 and qualified in 2010 in Childcare Learning and Development and is Paediatric first aid trained. She is our Special Educational Needs Co Ordinator. She has a wide variety of interests but especially enjoys ensuring children meet their next steps of learning. She works all Year.
Hannah Mortimer
ApprenticeHannah is a level 2 apprentice. She has a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social care. She loves providing children with a wide variety of activities to enhance their development. Hannah works all year.

Kay Wales
Early Years PractitionerKay is a Room Lead and Level 3 qualified in Early Years and she also has previous experience in Adult care. She is Paediatric First aid trained and loves planning for the 2-3 year olds and enhancing their interests to help them move onto their next steps of learning. Kay works all year.

Brittany Sedgwick
ApprenticeBrittany is a level 2 apprentice in Early Years. She loves to provide Physical and creative activities for children. She works all year.

Lucy Bourke
Early Years PractitionerLucy came to us as a Level 3 Student to complete her training and then after qualifying she began working with us as a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner. She recently completed a course in Managing behaviour and enjoys her role as Key worker. She works Term time only.

Muna Muse
Early Years PractitionerMuna came to us as a Early Years apprentice in 2018 she achieved both her Level 2 and 3. She now works in our team as a qualified level 3. She is also Paediatric First aid trained and has recently completed a qualification in managing behaviour. Muna is Term time only.

Nicole Machin Booth
Early Years PractitionerNicole came to us as a newly qualified Level 2 in 2018 and is currently in the process of completing her Level 3 in Early years. She is Paediatric first aid trained and loves planning for creative activities and updating our Facebook page with what we have been doing at Kelham. She works all year.

Sam Thomas
Early Years PractitionerRoom Lead and level 3 in early years. She holds a paediatric first aid qualification. She has many years experience in yearly years she qualified in 2006. She has an interest in supporting children with special educational needs. Sam is Term time only.
